Coin Company Awards Five For High Quality

LITTLETON –  Littleton Coin Company honored its staff members for quality, service and ingenuity at its annual awards breakfast held at the Elks Lodge. The 2006 Employee of the Year and Distinguished Achievement award recipients were announced to the company’s 350+ employees. Dennis Cote of the Information Technology department was named Quality Employee of the Year. Melissa Peters, of Assembly, received the Distinguished Achievement quality award.

Littleton Coin Company began the Quality Awards program nine years ago. Chief Operating Officer Mike Morelli stated, “Selecting the award recipients from so many highly qualified people is always difficult. However, both Dennis and Melissa have done outstanding jobs in their pursuit of quality.” Cote received the award for his meticulous attention to detail in the creation of new order entry software. Peters was honored for continually striving to work more efficiently and her initiative to get the job done. Both received a certificate and monetary award.

Frank Martirani of Outbound Fulfillment was also recognized, with the Outstanding Employee Suggestion of the Year award. Frank recommended a packaging modification which not only greatly reduced the amount of time spent assembling orders, but also reduced the potential for product damage during shipping.

Announced by Personnel Director Milt Bratz was the Special Contribution award. This program honors employees who have made a special contribution to better the company in some way. The recipients of this award were Jeanne Labonte of the Credit department and Jeff McCloud of Maintenance. Both Labonte and McCloud were recognized for their long-term records of outstanding attendance – a feat that improves operational efficiency.

In all, 38 employees were honored for a total of 405 years of combined service with Littleton Coin. Those presented with awards received a handsome timepiece and a gift certificate to their choice of local merchants. Each year, employees are recognized for varying lengths of service within the company.
